Michelle Chislett is Managing Director of Business Development for SunEdison Canada and is responsible for managing solar projects from initial stages through to start of construction. Michelle is involved in areas of origination, acquisition, development, permitting and stakeholder relations in order to establish the company's portfolio of projects.
From 2010-2013 Michelle was Vice President of Business Development with GDF SUEZ Canada, where she developed the pipeline of solar projects and gained experience in wind and hydro development.
From 2006-2010 Michelle held a number of senior positions with SkyPower Corp, most recently as Vice President, Solar Group where she lead the team that developed Canada's first fully operational solar farm, 'First Light', a 9MW solar Photovoltaic facility in Ontario.
With a background in telecommunications, Michelle was involved in the launch of an innovative wireless technology project along with a variety of other programs with Primus Telecom from 1999 until late 2004.
Michelle is past-Chair and member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA), a member of the Dean's Advisory Council of Western Engineering (ACWE), a member of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Stakeholder Advisory Committee and in April 2012 was appointed as a member of the Ontario's Clean Energy Task Force, an advisory council to the Minister of Energy and Minister of Economic Development & Innovation.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
