IESO Actions in Advance of Extreme Conditions Market Manual 7.1 (SE-103)

The IESO has added a section to the System Operating Market Manual 7.1 to outline actions that may be taken to prepare the electricity system for extreme conditions. A number of standards based obligations ensure that when extreme conditions are expected the IESO has the authority to take certain actions, such as committing additional generators or revoking planned outages.

The information has been added to the market manual to provide market participants with a clear definition of the actions the IESO may take, when to expect them, and how the IESO notifies the market.

Please review the Background Memorandum for more information or email stakeholder.engagement@ieso.ca.
