Proposed Changes to Forecast SBG (SE-SBG)

The IESO is seeking stakeholder feedback on proposed changes to the current Forecast Surplus Baseload Generation report that would provide visual indicators of potential SBG conditions.

Surplus Baseload Generation (SBG) occurs when electricity production from baseload facilities (such as nuclear, hydro and wind) is greater than Ontario demand. These reports consider near-term forecasts for hydro-electric and other baseload generation as well as weather conditions which impact demand. The report is available in the supply section of the Data Directory: http://www.ieso.ca/Pages/Power-Data/Data-Directory.aspx

Stakeholders are asked to provide feedback on the proposed changes by answering the questions in the backgrounder posted below.
