Ersilia Serafini is Vice Chair of IESO's Stakeholder Advisory Committee, representing the sector of Ontario communities.
Since becoming President in 2009, Ersilia has led Summerhill through a period of change and transformation into a leading energy efficiency and product stewardship company. Under her direction, Summerhill has tripled revenue, expanded its reach across Canada, and continued to deliver some of the most impactful, results-oriented programs that help to improve the environment.
Ersilia takes great pride in the integrity of Summerhill's mission while maximizing business value for clients and partners. She deeply values each member of her staff and has made it a priority to maintain the cultural foundation of the business; she is proud and honoured that Summerhill has been recognized as a "Best Workplace" by the Great Places to Work Institute three years in a row since 2011.
Ersilia ranked #14 on the list of Top 100 female entrepreneurs in Canada by Profit Magazine in November 2013.
In 2012, Ersilia received the Next Generation Award for Business Excellence from the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario. She was also named a "Marketing Icon in the Making" by Strategy Magazine in 2007. She is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization.
In the community, she is a member of the campaign cabinet for Environmental Defense's Just Beautiful campaign and volunteers her time with the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research Canada. She is also a member of The Climate Project Canada, having been trained by Al Gore to deliver the climate change message to the Canadian public.
Ersilia completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours at the University of Toronto, with a double major in Biology and Environmental Science. Her greatest joy is spending time with her two daughters.
