During the recent FIT 4 application window from October 5 to October 23, 2015, the IESO received 1,968 applications representing a total of 582 megawatts (MW). These applications are for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, waterpower and bioenergy) with a proposed capacity of more than 10 kilowatts (kW) and generally up to 500 kW. The IESO received applications with Aboriginal community participation (13 percent of net applications), municipal and public sector participation (34 percent) and community participation (25 percent). Applications are currently being reviewed by the IESO for completeness and eligibility.
Successful applicants are expected to be announced in the second quarter of 2016. The IESO will award contracts up to the procurement target of 241.438 MW which includes the 150 MW initial 2015 FIT procurement target, the 50 MW rollover from the 2014 FIT procurement target, and a 41.438 MW rollover from the remaining unallocated 2014 microFIT procurement target.
