New engagement launched on Transmission Losses

The IESO is continuing a stakeholder engagement to discuss the IESO and Hydro One’s practices related to transmission losses. Building upon the public information session conducted in September 2019, the engagement will discuss how transmission losses are considered in electricity planning in Ontario and other jurisdictions, transmission loss mitigation practices, and provide stakeholders an opportunity to provide feedback on those processes.
The IESO has scheduled a webinar on September 30 at 1:30 p.m. The agenda will include a discussion of transmission losses cost allocation and economic evaluation; IESO and Hydro One’s respective practices regarding mitigating transmission losses; comparison of planning and operational practices in other jurisdictions where transmission losses are considered; and potential improvements to IESO and Hydro One’s respective practices.
