Deborah S. Whale
Deborah S. Whale was appointed to the IESO Board of Directors on January 1, 2015. Prior to that, she served on the board of the Ontario Power Authority since November 20, 2013.
Mrs. Whale is the Vice-President of Clovermead Farms Inc. in Wellington County and currently serves on several boards, including the Livestock Research and Innovation Corporation’s Stakeholders Advisory Committee and the Grand River Agricultural Society. She was inducted into the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2016, and she holds the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Guelph.
Mrs. Whale is a past Chair of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization and past Chair of the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario. She is also a former Vice-Chair of the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission. Mrs. Whale has also served on the National Board of Directors of Farm Credit Canada and on the Advisory Board of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queens University, has completed corporate governance training through York University and was awarded the designation of Professional Agrologist (P.Ag., Hon.) from the Ontario Institute of Agrology.
