For regional planning purposes, the Peterborough-Kingston region includes Frontenac County, Hasting County, Northumberland County, Peterborough County, Prince Edward County, and parts of Lennox and Addington County, and related municipalities. Regional Planning Activities in Peterborough-Kingston Region
The regional planning cycle is underway for the region, with an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) anticipated to be posted in Q4 2021.
A Needs Assessment was conducted for the Peterborough-Kingston region in February 2015. The process was led by Hydro One Networks Inc., and included representatives from the IESO, the former Veridian Connections Inc., Kingston Hydro, Peterborough Distribution Inc. and Hydro One Networks Inc. Distribution.
The participants recommended that the needs identified in the Needs Assessment did not require further coordinated regional planning at that time, and could be addressed at the local level.
