Green Ontario Fund updates
March 21, 2018
GreenON Installations re-opened
GreenON Installations was launched in August 2017 and was temporarily closed to new applicants in December 2017 as the program’s initial registration targets were exceeded. GreenON has completed over 33,000 installations across Ontario and the application window is now re-opened for 2018. The program now has an online booking system to enable registrants to schedule their installation appointments within a few weeks of registration. Any existing 2017 registrants who have not yet booked their appointment still have the opportunity to participate in the program and can schedule an appointment through GreenON Support at 1-888-728-8444. The program target is to complete 140,000 installations. New customers can apply through the program website here.
Introducing the GreenON Challenge
The Green Ontario Fund is investing up to $300 million in the GreenON Challenge, beginning in 2018 through 2019. Eligible businesses and organizations, including utilities, are asked to submit proposals for projects that support the transformative adoption of low-carbon technologies and processes. Proposals are submitted using an expression of interest form, available for download here, by May 7, 2018. Following the review of proposals from applicants, selected projects will be invited to submit a full business case. Project funding will be considered on a case-by-case basis with up to $30 million per project. The program is focused on projects that identify and propose a solution to a market barrier in deploying commercially available low-carbon technologies and/or improving processes in buildings or the production of goods. For more information, visit the GreenON Challenge website here and direct any questions to Challenge@greenon.ca.
