Project: Dispatch Service

Project Description

Transition the tool used by market participants to accept and reject dispatch instructions from Message Exchange to Dispatch Service.

Additional information

Who is affected?

All market participants receiving dispatch instructions from the IESO (dispatchable generators and loads).

Project Status

On target for implementation in Production January/February 2018.

Action Required

Participants are encouraged to test the new application during the trial period November 1 to December 15, 2017.

Project: Market Information System Refresh

Project Description

The Market Information System contains the tools and processes that optimize the dispatch of Ontario's electricity system. This system is scheduled to be refreshed with a new IT solution.

Additional information

Who is affected?

All dispatchable market participants.

There will be no change in functionality. The only impact to market participants will be a change to the Dispatch Advisory Report which is expected to increase the number of critical intervals displayed from five up to 11 intervals.

On target for implementation in Production December 2017.

Action Required

Participants are encouraged to test the retrieval of the new Dispatch Advisory Reports during the trial period November 13 to 24, 2017.

Project:  Interchange Enhancements

Project Description

The IESO is planning to make changes with respect to the submission of e-Tags and the management of those transactions specifically within the mandatory window to improve the operation and management of interchange scheduling related tasks by enhancing existing interchange scheduling systems and processes.

Who is affected?

All market participants exporting electricity from Ontario and/or importing electricity into Ontario.

Project Status

Webinar to be scheduled for Q4 2017 to review Test Plan for upcoming Market Trials in Q1 2018.
