New Adequacy Reports to be launched on June 21

June 16, 2016

Starting on June 21, the IESO will launch new reports that will replace the existing System Status Report (SSR), Daily and Weekly Security and Adequacy Assessment (SAA), Adequacy and Day-Ahead Adequacy Report, and the Generator Planned Outage Report.

The data contained in these reports will be published in new reports that provide a better organization of data for adequacy reporting. More information on the new reports is provided below.

  • The Adequacy Reports will contain aggregated demand, capacity, outage and scheduling related information up to 34 days in advance. They will be stored on the reports site in the Adequacy and DA Adequacy folders.
  • The Transmission Outage Limits Report and Transmission All-in-Service Report will contain information related to internal transmission and intertie transfer capabilities.
  • The Ontario Zonal Demand Forecast Report contains an hourly Ontario Demand forecast for the upcoming 34 days. It is available in the OntarioZonalDemand folder on the reports site.
  • Advisory Notices will be made available by RSS feed, which you will be able to subscribe to on June 21.

For a more comprehensive understanding of what will be contained in the reports, please see this document, visit the sandbox Reports Site for testing, or look at samples of the reports to configure your processes for automatically downloading reports.

Concurrent with the release of these reports, the changes to relevant market rules as recommended by the Technical Panel and approved by the IESO Board of Directors will come into effect on June 21, 2016.
