Call for Feedback: Brant Local Demand Response Pilot

May 18, 2017

The IESO is seeking stakeholder comments on the Brant Local Demand Response Pilot. The IESO developed the pilot and issued a Request for Proposals in 2016, seeking up to 15 MW of demand response provided by local load customers that are supplied by the Brant Transformer Station and/or Powerline Municipal Transformer Station in the Brant area.

The pilot was intended to help test the use of DR to assist with local capacity needs and provide interim capacity relief. The RFP for the pilot closed in February 2017, although proposals were not received at that time. The IESO is now requesting feedback from stakeholders that will support the assessment and consideration exercise for similar future initiatives, like another RFP later this year.

Details on the pilot’s RFP and Service Agreement can be found online on the Brant Local Demand Response Pilot engagement webpage. Comments can be submitted to engagement@ieso.ca, and are due by June 9, 2017.
