Updated Loss Penalty Factors to be implemented February 21

February 15, 2018

New Loss Penalty Factors will be implemented on February 21. The new values are now posted to the IESO website on the Data Directory webpage and can be found within the Transmission section.

Loss Penalty Factors represent the transmission losses associated with each resource, including generators, loads and intertie connections. Transmission losses occur naturally when moving power from one point to another due to such factors as heating, energization and magnetization. The loss penalty factors are used in both the pre-dispatch and real-time constrained sequences. Additional questions can be sent to customer.relations@ieso.ca.
