Ontario Power System Restoration Plan
The Ontario Power System Restoration Plan (OPSRP) provides the response framework to expediently restore the IESO-controlled grid after a partial or complete blackout.
Owners or operators of facilities that meet specific criteria defined in the OPSRP will be deemed a restoration participant and must submit a restoration participant attachment that outlines how they will meet obligations to support the OPSRP. Several documents and guides are available to help meet these obligations.
- Ontario Electricity Emergency Plan (OEEP) includes eight key planning criteria that must be addressed in an emergency plan.
- Market Participant Emergency Planning Guidelines are based on the CAN/CSA standard for developing emergency preparedness plans.
- Emergency Drills and Exercises Guide is a practical guide to developing and conducting emergency preparedness drills and exercises. It also describes the large-scale emergency restoration exercises conducted since 2001.
Restoration participants must annually submit the Ontario Reliability Compliance Program Form 1609 using the IESO Reliability Compliance Tool accessed through Online IESO.
