Changes to IESO Web Site Support Accessibility

November 26, 2020

Over the last number of months, the IESO has been moving forward to ensure that information posted on its web sites is accessible to all Ontarians.  As part of this effort, the IESO is updating and replacing documents on the site so that the information contained within them can be accessed using assistive devices or read by someone with a vision disability.

As part of the IESO’s ongoing commitment to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), all new documents posted to the site moving forward will be accessible, including those submitted by stakeholders and third parties. Stakeholders are reminded that the IESO has provided a template to make it easier for stakeholders to submit accessible documents.

In addition, a number of older documents currently on the ieso.ca and saveonenergy.ca sites that are no longer required for ongoing business will be removed and archived. As a result, web pages will be cleaner, making relevant information more easy to find on the site.  Any archived documents will continue to be available upon request and how to request them will be noted clearly on the site. The IESO will endeavour to minimize any inconvenience to users of the web site as it makes this transition.

More information on AODA requirements and creating accessible information can be found on the government of Ontario’s accessibility web page.
