Message from Joe Oliver, Chair of the IESO Board

On behalf of the IESO Board of Directors, I am pleased to provide an update on the transition of leadership at the IESO.
An executive search firm has been retained to help us recruit a new President and CEO. In the interim, effective September 15, the Board has appointed current Vice President of Policy, Engagement and Innovation, Terry Young as Interim President and CEO, bringing continuity to the operation of the business and our relationships with sector partners.
Over the coming months I will personally be working closely with Terry, along with other Board members. I am confident that under his guidance, the IESO is well positioned to continue to deliver on its core mandate while we deal with the impacts of COVID-19.
Over the last three years, Peter has brought a spirit of renewal, responding constructively to the rapid changes taking place within our sector. We valued Peter’s insight and leadership as we navigated the many issues for which the IESO has responsibility.
On behalf of the Board, I wish Peter every success as he takes on his new challenge at Nova Scotia Power and thank him for his significant contribution to our organization.
