Connecting Today.
Powering Tomorrow.
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the heart of Ontario's power system. The IESO delivers key services across the electricity sector including: managing the power system in real-time, planning for the province's future energy needs, enabling conservation and designing a more efficient electricity marketplace to support sector evolution.

Electricity Planning for Toronto
Electricity demand in the city of Toronto is rising quickly. The IESO is in a new round of electricity planning to identify actions needed to ensure a reliable supply of electricity to the city for years to come. See our recent presentation or find information and resources in the Toronto Regional Plan Information Package.

The Long-Term 2 RFP is underway
Ontario’s largest competitive procurement for new electricity generation and capacity is now open through the IESO’s second Long-Term Request for Proposals. The IESO is currently seeking energy and capacity from new-build resources, to be hosted in supportive communities across the province, in the first of four procurement windows.
