The IESO received a letter from the Minister of Energy on May 8, 2024 related to the development of a Northern Hydro Program (NHP) for eligible hydroelectric facilities greater than 10MW. The IESO is engaging with the northern hydroelectric community to inform the program design.
The IESO encourages interested parties to register for public sessions noted below and direct any questions or feedback to IESO Engagement at engagement@ieso.ca.

NHP Engagement Update: As per the July 23 public engagement session, the IESO has been working closely with impacted facilities on the development of a Northern Hydro Program which has directly informed a report that has been submitted to the Ministry in December 2024 (report was requested in the May 8, 2024 letter).
A public engagement session will be scheduled in the coming months to provide the sector with an update on details and timing of the NHP.
