Lesley Gallinger appointed IESO President and CEO

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lesley Gallinger as the IESO’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Lesley is a respected leader in Ontario’s electricity sector. She is currently the President and CEO of Elexicon Energy where she led the fourth-largest municipally-owned electricity distributor through a sizeable merger integration.
Prior to her appointment at Elexicon, Lesley served as Chief Strategy and Financial Officer at the Electrical Safety Authority and as Vice President, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Financial Officer at Oakville Hydro Corporation. She also currently serves on the Boards of Axis Auto Finance and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, where she is Chair of the HR and Governance Committee.
Lesley’s management, financial and strategic expertise will be a significant benefit to the IESO as the Province recovers from the impact of COVID-19 and Ontarians rely on us to maintain the reliability and affordability of our electricity system.
Lesley’s appointment takes effect May 25, 2021. Terry Young has agreed to remain as Interim President and CEO until then and assist in the transition. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank Terry for his important contribution during this period.
