Technical Panel - Call for Nominations

The IESO is seeking qualified candidates to join its Technical Panel, a body that is crucial to evolving Ontario’s electricity markets in a way that delivers ratepayer value, while ensuring the continued reliability of the electricity system.
Technical Panel members provide advice to the IESO’s Board of Directors as it relates to electricity-related Market Rule amendments. Nominees should be experienced in the following areas:
- A strong understanding of market rules, structure and/or operations of Ontario’s electricity market.
- A level of technical and/or commercial knowledge and expertise in the operation of resources relevant to their represented constituency and electrical power systems.
- A breadth of knowledge and experience working within both Ontario’s electricity sector and the constituency they represent.
The IESO is accepting nominations of individuals who represent various constituencies including:
- Consumers of electricity, including residential and embedded retail/industrial.
- Energy-related businesses and services representing electricity traders/wholesalers, aggregators, innovation, research, smart grid, gas utilities, conservation-related services, or financial services.
- Generators of electricity that represent gas, nuclear, wind, solar, or hydroelectric.
Individuals may nominate themselves or another candidate. When submitting a nomination, please include information about the nominee’s experience as it relates to the items noted above, along with a resume and signed Declaration of Nominee to engagement@ieso.ca. Nominations will close on August 21, 2025.
