2025 Hydrogen Innovation Fund - Call for Applications Now Open

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) has officially launched the 2025 Call for Applications under the Hydrogen Innovation Fund (HIF). This year’s call includes an expanded budget of $30 million to support a broader range of hydrogen innovation projects across Ontario. Applications will be accepted until February 11, 2026.
Funding is available through two streams:
- Stream 1 supports projects that integrate low-carbon hydrogen into Ontario’s electricity grid.
- Stream 2 supports hydrogen applications in other sectors such as transportation, manufacturing, and heavy industry.
Through this initiative, the IESO aims to better understand how hydrogen can support Ontario’s evolving energy needs and drive innovation across sectors.
