Bronte sub-region

The regional planning cycle for the Bronte sub-region began in 2014 with the release of the Needs Screening report for the Burlington-Nanticoke region. In June 2016 an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) was released.

Regional Planning Process Status

The Needs Screening report identified that the supply circuits to Bronte TS from Burlington TS will reach their Load Meeting Capability (LMC) I the near term, and/or can be constrained by voltage issues.

To address this, a working group considered a combination of conservation and demand management, distributed generation and transmission to meet the region's electricity needs.

Working Group

A Working Group consisting of the local distribution companies in the region, the local transmitter and the IESO will continue to use the regional planning process to identify and meet local electricity needs.

The Working Group consists of staff from Burlington Hydro, Oakville Hydro, Hydro One Transmission (Hydro One) and the IESO.
