Time Agenda Item Action

9:30 a.m.

Improving Accessibility of Operating Reserve

The IESO has been experiencing an issue with OR where the amount of scheduled OR is not fully accessible. This issue could create challenges for the IESO to recover the supply-demand balance after a system event, and result in unfair cost to the market. The IESO initiated this engagement in order to better understand and develop potential solutions to this issue. Solutions and market rules have been proposed and discussed with Stakeholders as well as the Technical Panel.

Due to implementation concerns, the IESO is reducing the scope of the solutions previously proposed for this initiative. At this meeting, the IESO will describe the change to Stakeholders and highlight the associated modifications to the proposed market rules.
