Capacity Auction update

The IESO will hold its first capacity auction on December 2, 2020. Originally scheduled for June, the auction was deferred, pending further analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on supply and demand forecasts, and resulting updates to our resource adequacy outlook. Target capacities for the summer 2021 and winter 2021-22 obligation periods will be announced later this summer.
Organizations interested in participating in the Capacity Auction must complete a number of key activities by specific deadlines. More information on the auction, including activity deadlines, can be found online.
