Incentives Increased for the First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program

March 7, 2024

The First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program has expanded its incentives to increase:

  • the number of energy assessments from four to 15 per community
  • the incentive cap from $100,000 to $330,000 per community

These changes are available to all eligible communities, including past program participants, and will allow for more energy savings and reduce decision-making burden by allowing more facilities to benefit.

The First Nations Community Building Retrofit program offers financial and technical assistance to on-reserve First Nations communities to undertake projects that will help improve the energy-efficiency of their band-owned commercial and institutional facilities, manage electricity use more effectively and reduce costs.

More information on the program is available on the Save on Energy website.
