This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
As part of September’s Capacity Auction Enhancements General and Technical engagement sessions, the IESO will: provide a response to stakeholder feedback from the July and August engagement sessions, continue discussion with stakeholders on the design of a settlement charge for HDR resources to be used in lieu of an availability de-rate in qualification, provide an update on the Hourly Demand Response standby trigger review, and present further details on a proposal to address large contributor forced outages in performance assessment. An updated timeline and future engagement topics will also be provided.
The IESO will present its recent activities on the Achievable Potential study refresh which includes updated modelling, and key inputs based on the latest 2021 Annual Planning Outlook. The IESO will be joined by the consultant Guidehouse and the results of the study refresh will be presented.
The MRP Team will be introducing and providing a forum to answer questions on the Interim Alignment Rule Set, and there will be updates on the IESO's Replacement of Settlement System project implementation.
The Capacity Auction Enhancements Technical Session will focus on the following three topics: Discussion of options for charge as an alternative to an availability de-rate; Contributor outages proposal; and, Hourly Demand Response Standby Trigger Review.
