Regional electricity planning in the Chatham-Kent/Lambton/Sarnia (CKLS) region has been completed with the posting of the final Scoping Assessment Outcome Reportthat determined no further regional coordination is required. This engagement initiative provided interested parties with an opportunity to offer input for consideration during the regional planning process.
Regional electricity plans take up to a 20-year outlook on every region in the province. The planning process provides an opportunity for communities to tell the IESO about anticipated needs and priorities, and to contribute to the development of the options for meeting this region’s future electricity needs.
All interested parties invited to participate in this engagement initiative and included but were not limited to:
Local municipalities included in the region: County of Lambton encompassing the City of Sarnia, townships of Petrolia, Plympton-Wyoming, Dawn-Euphemia, Enniskillen, St. Clair and Warwick, municipalities of Lambton Shores and Brooke-Alvinston, and Villages of Oil Springs and Point Edward, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, and portions of Huron County and Elgin County namely the municipalities of South Huron and West Elgin, and the Village of Newbury
Indigenous communities including Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Bkejwanong (Walpole Island) First Nation, Caldwell First Nation, Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Mississaugas of the Credit, Moravian of the Thames, Nawash First Nation, Saugeen First Nation and Six Nations of the Grand River (Elected Council and HCCC/HDI)
Métis Nation of Ontario communities including MNO Thames Bluewater Métis Council (London) and MNO Windsor-Essex-Kent Métis Council
Local distribution companies (LDCs) who serve the community and already participate as part of the Technical Working Group, including Bluewater Power, Entegrus and Hydro One Networks Inc.
Transmitters (Hydro One Networks Inc.)
Consumers, service providers, and associations for the area
CKLSScoping Assessment Technical Working Group- A Technical Working Group consisting of the LDCs in the region, the transmitter, and the IESO will use this regional planning engagement initiative to incorporate input while developing the Scoping Assessment Outcome Report for the region.
