Sector Evolution
The 2021-2024 Conservation Demand Management (CDM) Framework will include a new customer focused program in 2022 for large transmission and distribution connected industrial consumers. The program is anticipated to enable large industrial consumers to specify funding needed to meet capital hurdles, or other business case requirements for large complex projects with an emphasis on process improvements and system optimisation.
This engagement will be delivered in two phases. The first phase will focus on gathering information from stakeholders to identify critical program elements that would be needed to successfully drive large projects forward. Some of the elements that will be explored include overall approaches, funding mechanisms, program requirements and eligibility. Based on this, the IESO will then draft a program framework. The second phase will then come back to stakeholders and request feedback on the framework.
The IESO encourages stakeholders and particularly large industrial loads, service providers, other funding organizations and agencies to stay informed and participate in this engagement. Engagement webinar The IESO will provide stakeholders with a program design update which builds off of the earlier materials presented and the feedback received from the initial engagement session in June. At this meeting the IESO will provide a draft program structure, including key draft program requirements and eligibility criteria, as well as share a proposed project selection framework and estimated program timelines. This engagement will also feature targeted questions seeking further input on the program design. |
