The IESO has initiated long-term procurement initiatives to address Ontario’s emerging electricity reliability needs. These initiatives include the now concluded Long Term Request for Proposals (LT1 RFP), the ongoing Long Term 2 Request for Proposals (LT2 RFP), and the upcoming Long Lead Time Request for Proposals (LLT RFP). This Community Engagement webpage is intended to support targeted information sharing and dialogue focused on community specific interests and considerations.
Engagement with municipalities and Indigenous communities is a critical component of the long term procurement process. These engagements provide municipalities and Indigenous communities with opportunities to learn about these procurement initiatives and to offer their input for consideration into the design of the procurement, particularly as it relates to community interests and impacts. Outreach activities include information sessions, as well as more targeted engagement opportunities that reflect the unique perspectives and contexts of each participant group.
