Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Roadmap

Sector Evolution

DER Roadmap Engagement

Throughout 2021, the IESO engaged with stakeholders to develop the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Roadmap that sets out the IESO’s goal, objectives, initiatives and timing for DER integration. The DER Roadmap provides an overview of the IESO’s DER-related projects and connects each project to three identified key focus areas for DER integration activities.

While the development of the DER Roadmap is complete, stakeholders are invited to learn more about each project, provide input in ongoing engagements and participate in related pilot programs and initiatives. Stakeholders who wish to learn more are encouraged to visit the DER Roadmap webpage

The IESO plans to provide progress updates on the DER Roadmap on an ongoing basis moving forward. The primary approach to for providing updates will be regularly scheduled OEB/IESO Joint Engagement Sessions on DER Integration, as part of which the IESO and OEB will alternately host engagement sessions. All OEB/IESO Joint Engagement presentation materials will be posted to the DER Roadmap engagement page. The DER Roadmap engagement may also be used for IESO DER related initiatives that do not have their own unique engagement.
