Resource Acquisition
The IESO is engaging on the next proposed Long-Term procurement, the Long-Term 2 Request for Proposals (LT2 RFP). This procurement is part of the IESO’s broader Resource Adequacy Framework – an enduring approach to identifying the type of acquisition activity to use to resolve system needs. The framework contemplates a multi-pronged approach to secure resources, generally based on the length of the contract term.
The Long-Term RFP engagement plan outlines the objectives, approach, timeline and considerations for engaging stakeholders and conducting outreach to other targeted audiences throughout the development of the LT2 RFP. This engagement plan may be subject to review and updates as the process evolves. All comments and enquiries on this engagement can be directed to engagement@ieso.ca.

The IESO will host a webinar with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). As the lead for the land use planning system in Ontario, MMAH will provide an overview of the provincial land use planning framework and OMAFRA will focus on the current land use planning policies in place to guide the siting of energy projects in prime agricultural areas. |
